One the one hand he thinks Destiny uses 1967 as evidence that Isreal was emboldened to be more aggressive And on the other hand Desinty is saying that Isreal had no choice but to be more aggressive because they were under such great threat. I fail to see the contradiction. If Isreal does not have military support from the US that means their capabilities aren't as great, that means they are weaker. IF they are weaker that would mean they were under greater comparative threat. If you are under greater threat then you would be more aggressive because you can't afford to stay in that weaker position, one way to secure a stronger position is to take territory that gives you a greater strategic advantage right? I'm really trying to grasp what the contradiction might be but it seems fairly logical/reasonable to me. If Israel had less support and were therefore weaker they would feel more threatened and therefore act more aggressively. The saying about a cornered animal comes to mind, but maybe that isn;t how larger conflicts actually go?
